Renowned for its resilience, zaniskari is a robust horse breed hailing from the Zanskar region of the Indian Himalayas. Exceptionally adapted to cold climates and high altitudes, these horses display remarkable endurance and agility on rocky paths. Despite their relatively small stature, typically about 12-13 hands high, zaniskari horses are appreciated for their significant load carrying capacities and their historic role in Zanskar's local transportation system.
