 The warlander breed represents an elegant fusion of power and grace, resulting from the careful breeding of Friesian and Andalusian horses. Most noteworthy is the breed's harmonious balance of agility and strength, exhibiting the muscular build of a draft horse coupled with the nimbleness of a light riding horse. Historically intended as a versatile performance horse, the warlander shines in dressage, exhibiting an impressive synthetic gait born of its unique genetic makeup.

 The warlander boasts a physically imposing and muscular structure, standing between 15.2 to 17 hands high, actively reflecting its crossbreed heritage. Displaying a variety of coat colors, predominantly black, bay, and grey, absence of identifiable patterns is a common observation. Its long, flowing mane and tail, often the same color as the coat, adorn its robust frame. Distinguishing features include a large, expressive, and keen-eyed face with brown or black eyes. Age-related greying is marginal but can gradually emerge.
