Description
The peach-throated monitor (Varanus jobiensis) is a species of monitor lizard native to New Guinea. It belongs to the subgenus Euprepiosaurus, along with the Ceram mangrove monitor and Finsch's monitor. They grow up to 120 centimetres (3.9Â ft) long. The colour of the throat, for which they are named, is white-yellow to red. They eat insects, frogs, freshwater fish, and small mammals.
