Tropiocolotes tripolitanus, also known as the northern sand gecko or Tripoli gecko, is a species of gecko found in northern Africa.

Appearance
Northern sand gecko is a small gecko, typically no more than 6 cm in length. It has a slender body covered in smooth, granular skin. Its predominant coloration is pale, often gray or brown, which generally matches the desert landscapes it inhabits. Darker spots or bands often mark its dorsum. Both its genders and ages share similar physical characteristics, with no notable differences present.
Behavior
Northern sand gecko is a nocturnal and solitary gecko species. It exhibits a secretive lifestyle, primarily residing under stones and debris in arid environments. Its survival strategy includes effective camouflage which assists it in avoiding predators. Unusually among reptiles, northern sand gecko does not engage in elaborate territorial marking or defensive behaviors.
