Trakehner typically exhibits a wide array of coat colors, although solid hues such as bay, black, chestnut, or grey are more prevalent. Most individuals lack distinctive markings, but occasional instances with small stars or thin blazes may be observed. Averaging a height of 16-17 hands, these horses exhibit a powerful and muscular build, characterized by a deep chest and slender, well-set neck. Their manes and tails are usually long and of the same color as their coats. Notable breed-specific features are a well-defined and expressive head with large, kind eyes often dark brown in color. Age-related changes may include greying around the eyes and mouth.

Behavior

Trakehner exhibits an alert, intelligent demeanor ideally suited for equestrian sports. This horse is known for quick reflexes, high sociability, and a certain degree of sensitivity, requiring a patient and experienced handler. Its high trainability, coupled with a strong willingness to work, makes it a dominant breed in dressage and jumping disciplines.
