Description
The Mission golden-eyed tree frog or Amazon milk frog (Trachycephalus resinifictrix) is a large species of arboreal frog native to the Amazon Rainforest in South America. It is sometimes referred to as the blue milk frog. It was first discovered along the Maracanã River in Brazil. This species was previously within the genus Phrynohyas, which was recently synonymized with Trachycephalus.

Amazon milk frog predominantly feeds on arthropods, specifically incorporating a high proportion of ants and termites into its diet. This species shows a preference for nocturnal feeding, adapted to exploit abundant prey resources under the cover of darkness.
Appearance
Amazon milk frog is a medium-sized frog with a robust, triangular body and smooth, waxy skin. It sports a predominantly green coloration, covered in irregular yellowish blotches for camouflage. Notably, it possesses large, protruding, dark eyes and stout limbs with webbed feet. This species lacks significant sexual dimorphism or age-dependent appearance variations.
Behavior
Amazon milk frog is primarily arboreal, spending the majority of its time in trees. This species is nocturnal, coming out at night to feed largely on insects and small invertebrates. Social interactions are uncommon outside of breeding season when males call loudly to attract females. It exhibits defensive behavior by secreting a toxic, sticky substance when threatened.
