  Cuban slider (Trachemys decussata), is a species of turtle. It is native to Cuba and Isla de la Juventud, but has also been introduced to Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac in the Cayman Islands (where it is known as the Taco river slider or Hickatee, and Marie Galante (Guadeloupe).

 Taco river slider predominantly feed on animals, rendering them carnivorous. Their diet entails a variety of mollusks, insects, crustaceans, as well as amphibians and fish, especially in their juvenile period. 
   Appearance
 The taco river slider is a medium-sized turtle with a somewhat flat and wide carapace, textured with growth rings. Its main coloration is green with yellow to brown streaks and a noticeable pattern of yellow lines radiating from the center of each scute. The underbelly is yellow with dark, irregular blotches. The skin is also green with yellow stripes. No significant differences due to age or gender exist. 
   Behavior
 Taco river slider is a solitary species, known for its aggressive territorial behaviour. They exhibit a strong connection with their aquatic habitat, spending the majority of their time foraging for food and basking in the sun. The species displays nesting behavior, creating nests in sandy banks near their water source.
