Description
Takydromus stejnegeri is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. The species is endemic to Taiwan.

Stejneger's Grass Lizard is a primarily insectivorous species, profusely feeding on a variety of arthropods. Its diet prominently includes small beetles and spiders, but it has also shown a preference for moths, ants, and other soft-bodied insects.
Appearance
Stejneger's Grass Lizard is a slim, long-bodied reptile with scaly skin. Adults average in size from 10 to 15 cm in length. Its predominant color is varying shades of brown with a lighter underbelly, to blend in the environment. The species does not possess visually distinctive traits like wings or horns. The male tends to be larger than the female, with thicker upper body and longer tail. The tail itself making up nearly two-thirds of its total length.
Behavior
Stejneger's Grass Lizard is a diurnal reptile, known for basking in sunlight during the day. It exhibits solitary behavior, except during mating season. Largely territorial, it uses visual cues such as postural displays to ward off intruders. Exceptional at camouflage, it blends with grasslands to evade predators.
