The banded stream frog, also known as the banded sand frog, Cape grass frog, Cape stream frog, long-toed frog, mountain frog or Jonkersberg frog (Strongylopus bonaespei) is a species of frog in the Pyxicephalidae family. It is endemic to South Africa.

Appearance
Banded stream frog is a small, slender-bodied frog characterised by smooth, moist skin of variable coloration from brown to greenish. It features irregular, scattered dark spots and a characteristic light stripe along the spine. Sexual dimorphism is reflected in males' more pronounced dorsolateral folds. Its long, thin hind legs adapted for leaping lead to broad, extensively webbed feet, further distinguishing this species.
Behavior
Banded stream frog demonstrates active diurnal and nocturnal behavior, foraging in various habitats including open areas and woodland edges. Mating calls, prominent in males, defines its unique territorial marking behavior. Solitary in nature, it mainly interacts during the mating season. Predominantly insectivorous, it adapts well to its environment, exhibiting flexibility in food choices.
