Description
Sphaerodactylus glaucus is a species of gecko known by the common name collared dwarf gecko (geco-enano collarejo in Spanish). It is native to Mexico and parts of Central America, its range extending from Oaxaca and Veracruz in Mexico through Guatemala to Honduras.

Appearance
Collared dwarf gecko is a diminutive gecko, scarcely reaching 1.5 inches in length. It sports a compact body encapsulated in smooth, tight skin. The unique skin coloration is a blending fuse of dark grays and bright greens, with a scattering of pale spots running along its back and tail. Neither horns nor wings are present. The tale is slim and relatively long, characteristic of its species. There is no significant difference in appearance between the sexes or among different age groups.
Behavior
Collared dwarf gecko is a nocturnal, ground-dwelling reptile known for its solitary lifestyle. It forages for small invertebrates during the night, often hiding under leaf litter during the day for protection. The species utilizes scent marking as a form of territory delineation, with males exhibiting territorial aggressiveness towards intruders. Its small stature aids camouflage in leafy habitats, enhancing its survival rate.
