Description
Warren's girdled lizard is a relatively large lizard that originates in Southern Africa. Formerly used in the pet trade, this fairly “shy” lizard can be seen in savannas and rocky habitats. The entire genus Smaug was named after Smaug, the dragon in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.
