A typically thick, dual-tone mane and tail, along with profuse feathering around their robust hooves, contribute to their distinctive look. Bright, intelligent eyes reflect shades of brown, often becoming a lighter hazel with age. Additionally, a unique feature is their winter coat, plush and resembling a bear’s pelt.

Highly sociable and intelligent, they are quick to respond to stimuli, making them suitable for various types of training.
