Description
Rheobates palmatus is a species of frog in the family Aromobatidae; it is the type species of genus Rheobates erected in 2006. Its common name is palm rocket frog. It is endemic to Colombia. It is considered to be part of a species complex.

Appearance

Behavior
Palm rocket frog is primarily nocturnal, spending day hours hidden in leaf litter or under logs. Once night falls, it actively forages for ants, its preferred diet. This solitary species exhibits aggressive territorial behavior, often vocalizing sharply to ward off intruders. It has developed a spectacular cryptic coloration, blending seamlessly into its forest habitat as a survival strategy.
