Description
The harlequin tree frog, Rhacophorus pardalis, is a species of frog in the Rhacophoridae family found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, freshwater marshes, and intermittent freshwater marshes. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Appearance
Harlequin tree frog is a medium-sized tree frog with smooth, moist skin. Its body is predominantly a brilliant green color with asymmetrical white or yellow patterns. It also features long toes with wide webbing, allowing brief periods of gliding. The large, round eyes exhibit a striking gold color, surrounded by black. Males distinguish themselves with a white stripe on the upper lip. Key indicators of their age are body size and color intensity.
Behavior
Harlequin tree frog is a solitary, nocturnal arboreal frog known for its remarkable parental care, in which males construct foam nests, call to attract females, and then guard the fertilized eggs. This species displays territorial behavior, defending nest sites from competitors. It is well-adapted for a life spent high in the canopy, capable of gliding from tree to tree using its large webbed feet.
