Rhacophorus margaritifer is a species of frog in the Rhacophoridae family endemic to Java, Indonesia. It is found in mostly in West Java, but is also found in Mount Merapi in Central Java and one site in East Java.

Appearance
Java flying frog is a medium-sized tree frog with a slim body and smooth, thin skin. Its primary coloration is a striking lime green, often with occasional white or cream spots. This species stands out due to its large, webbed hind limbs which facilitate gliding; a unique feature among frogs. While adult males possess a distinct vocal sac, females tend to be larger. The adult size usually ranges from 40-50 mm.
Behavior
Java flying frog is known for its remarkable reproductive behavior of oviposition on tree branches above water. Upon hatching, larvae drop into the water below, completing their lifecycle. A nocturnal species, they exhibit arboreal adaptation with webbed toes helpful for gliding. Solitary for most of their life, they gather in groups only during the breeding season.
