Diet
Grande terre giant gecko are primarily frugivores consuming a variety of fruits such as papaya, mango, and berries. However, they occasionally consume nectar and pollen, accentuating their diet's variability.
Appearance
Grande terre giant gecko is the largest gecko species, with robust body measuring up to 17 inches in length. Its skin, textured like rough bark, is typically grey to brown with contrasting patches or spots. This gecko has loose folds of skin, a wide head, and a distinctively ridgeless tail. Both males and females showcase similar appearances, with no substantial variations due to age or subspecies.
Behavior
Grande terre giant gecko undergo primarily nocturnal behavior, dormant during the day and active at night to search for sustenance. Known for being solitary, they demonstrate strong territorial tendencies, demarcating boundaries by vocalizing distress calls and physical aggression. Survival in their natural arboreal habitats is facilitated through a keen ability to climb and adapt to various environments.
