Appearance
Northern spider tortoise is a small, slow-moving turtle with a domed shell measuring up to 18 cm. It's covered in skin that perfectly mimics bark or leaf litter, aiding in camouflage. The color palette includes shades of brown, black, and gray with distinctive growth rings on the shell. The males feature longer, thicker tails while females have shorter, wider shells.
