Diet
Common barking gecko is an insectivorous species, known for its prompt predation on various arthropods. It particularly enjoys consuming beetles and spiders, but it does not shy away from incorporating other small invertebrates into its diet when necessary.
Appearance
Common barking gecko is a small lizard with a robust, cylindrical body ending with a bulbous, flattened tail. It has rough, granulated skin in shades of brown, often mottled with darker patches. This species also exhibits a whitish underbelly. Notably, common barking gecko has oversized, protruding ears relative to its body size. There are no significant differences in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies.
Behavior
Common barking gecko displays a largely crepuscular lifestyle, remaining inactive during the day in burrows, and only emerging at dawn or dusk for foraging.
