Description
Pristimantis quaquaversus is a species of frog in the family Craugastoridae. It is found on the lower Amazonian slopes of the Andes from northern Ecuador south to the Cordillera de Cutucú and Cordillera del Cóndor as well as the adjacent northern Peru.

Appearance
Pristimantis quaquaversus is small and has a blocky, frog-like body. Its skin is rough, a striking feature that provides excellent camouflaged amidst rocky, mossy habitats. The striking variety among individuals extends also to coloration—from solid olive green to splotchy mixes of brown, black, and green. No noticeable difference exists in appearance between genders. The young pristimantis quaquaversus mimic the adults in forming their fascinating natural disguise, but in smaller proportion.
