Description
Bocage's wall lizard (Podarcis bocagei ) is a species of lizard in the family Lacertidae. The species is endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, sandy shores, rural gardens, and urban areas. The IUCN does not consider it to be threatened.

Appearance
Bocage's wall lizard is a small lizard with a slender, elongated body covered in smooth scales. It displays a blend of green and brown colors, with males being more brightly colored especially during the mating season. Noteworthy are its long, slender tail and back stripes, the latter being less prominent in females. Unlike many other lizards, no significant changes in appearance occur with age.
Behavior
Bocage's wall lizard is a predominantly solitary animal with a defined territorial nature. Males are particularly aggressive, marking territories with secretions and often engaging in combative displays to deter rivals. Its survival behavior includes basking in the sun to regulate body temperature and foraging in a variety of habitats, predominantly insects and spiders.
