Description
The Peaks of Otter salamander (Plethodon hubrichti) is a species of salamanders in the family Plethodontidae, endemic to the Peaks of Otter area in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Peaks of otter salamander largely consumes small invertebrates, with an observed predilection for acarids and collembolans. It actively forages under leaf litter and reliant on its tactile hunting strategy.
Appearance
Peaks of otter salamander is a medium-sized salamander with a smooth, moist skin texture and slender body shape. It sports a bright, clear yellow coloration often strewn with irregularly distributed black spots. This creature lacks any additional features such as wings, horns or tails other than the flat, paddle-like tail typical of salamanders. No notable differences in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies have been observed.
Behavior
Peaks of otter salamander are predominantly nocturnal, spending the day in moist, continently shaded environments and emerging at night for foraging. They exhibit a solitary nature apart from mating periods and are notably non-territorial. For survival in their habitat, peaks of otter salamander utilize their camouflage to evade predators.
