   Appearance
Four-lined skink is a mid-sized lizard with a sleek, cylindrical body and a long tail. It has smooth, glossy skin primarily hued in solid black or dark brown. A distinct feature is its four bright yellow or amber longitudinal stripes extending from head to tail. The vibrant stripes contrast sharply with its dark body, adding to its striking appearance. Its hind limbs are notably larger than its front limbs for adept climbing. No significant visual differences occur between genders or age groups.
   Behavior
Four-lined skink is a solitary, diurnal reptile that exhibits remarkable climbing skills, using them to navigate the rocky terrain of its habitat. It forages mainly on arthropods and demonstrates distinct territorial markings, often performed by head bobbing and push-ups. A principle anuran predator, its bright ventral coloration and tail autotomy offer valuable defense mechanisms in its ecosystem.
