 Description

The sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) is the largest living toothed whale, and has the largest brain of any animal known. Its bulbous head is dominated by its spermaceti organ that produces and receives echolocation sounds. The echoes allow it to hunt in dark waters deep below the surface. The sperm whale is the only known predator of adult giant squid.

   Diet
Sperm whale, commonly known as the sperm whale, is a carnivorous creature, primarily feeding on big squid species. They've also demonstrated a preference for fish like sharks, rays, and demersal fish, completing a well-rounded diet.
   Appearance
Sperm whale is a large marine mammal with a robust, elongated body covered in smooth, dark grey skin. Its head is enormous, constituting one-third of its total body length. The animal lacks fur and distinct coloration patterns, but has a small arch-shaped dorsal fin. Adults are marked by squarish, roughened patches of skin on the chest and belly. The males are generally larger than the females and are known for their single large, forward-pointing tooth.
   Behavior
Sperm whale, or sperm whale, is known for its deep-diving behavior, descending to depths of more than 2,000 meters when hunting. It is a highly sociable species, forming close-knit matrilineal social groupings. Unusually for whales, males are mostly solitary but can become aggressive when defending their defined territory.
