Description
Phyllomedusa venusta is a species of frog in the family Hylidae, found in Colombia and Panama. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, swamps, freshwater marshes, intermittent freshwater marshes, and heavily degraded former forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Lovely leaf frog predominantly feeds on arthropods, favoring ants and spiders. Hinging its culinary preference on size and mobility, it eschews immobile bugs, opting for those that dash and scuttle.
Appearance
Lovely leaf frog is a small-size frog with delicate, smooth skin. Primary color is a vivid, emerald green, with fine white lines stretching along the body and limbs, creating a striking visual pattern. It possesses large webbed feet and powerful hind legs. Like most frogs, it lacks any tails or horns. There are no major differences in appearance between genders or throughout its life stages.
Behavior
Lovely leaf frog is generally solitary, leading a largely arboreal existence. It exhibits nocturnal behaviour, engaging in hunting and foraging during the night and resting during the day to avoid predators. Mating occurs at the start of the rainy season, with males vocalizing loudly to attract females. Territorial disputes are common during this period.
