Diet

Blue-and-yellow frog, also known as the Giant Leaf Frog, predominantly feasts on a diet consisting of arthropods. They have shown a particular preference for consuming beetles, ants, and spiders, using their long, sticky tongues to catch these quick and elusive prey.

Appearance

The blue-and-yellow frog is a large tree frog with a robust body and smooth, moist skin. It exhibits a striking bicolor pattern with a vibrant lime-green back and deep blue-purple belly. The species is characterized by its long, powerful legs and large, round eyes. Also noteworthy are its conspicuous adhesive pads on the fingers and toes. There are no significant variations in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies.

Behavior

Blue-and-yellow frog is largely arboreal and nocturnal, specializing in sit-and-wait predation. It exhibits solitary and territorial behaviors, communicating by vocal signals to demarcate space. Pulling in nutrients from its environment, blue-and-yellow frog uses transdermal absorption, a key aspect of its foraging behavior.
