Diet
Madagascar day gecko primarily subsists on a diet of invertebrates. It shows a particular preference for small arthropods and occasionally feeds on nectar, pollen, fruits, and other plant materials.
Appearance
Madagascar day gecko is a medium-sized, flat-bodied lizard with smooth, bright, scale-covered skin. The primary coloration is a vivid green, often with red or blue spots and stripes, and a white or light-colored underside. Madagascar day gecko has a long tail and two pairs of fully-developed limbs with adhesive toe pads, which aid them in clinging to smooth surfaces. There are no significant differences in appearance due to age, gender, or subspecies.
Behavior
Madagascar day gecko is a diurnal species, typically visible and active during the day. They are arboreal, residing usually in trees, and showcase amazing climbing skills, adhering to surfaces via specialized toe pads. Although largely solitary creatures, their mating process involves peculiar courtship displays. They exhibit territorial behavior, aggressively defending their space from intruders. Furthermore, madagascar day gecko do not generally migrate, with survival adaptations to their specific rainforest habitats.
