Description
The Iberian parsley frog (Pelodytes ibericus) is a species of frog in the family Pelodytidae, known as "parsley frogs" because of their green speckles. This species is only found in Portugal and Spain; in Spanish it is known as sapillo moteado ibérico.

Appearance
Iberian parsley frog is a small-sized frog with a smooth, glossy skin. This amphibian has a round body shape with a dominating green color mottled with black spots. The underbelly is cream-colored. It possesses large, bulging eyes and long hind legs, suited for leaping. No significant visual differences occur due to age or gender. Its prominent disc-shaped adhesive pads on the toes are a distinguishing feature.
Behavior
Iberian parsley frog is a nocturnal, semi-aquatic species. It utilizes leaf litter and dense vegetation for camouflage, fitting its survival in terrestrial habitats. Social interactions are primarily seen during mating periods, often marked by male vocalizations. Iberian parsley frog has minimal territorial behaviors due to its scattered habitat preferences.
