Description
Looking almost cartoon-like with its large eyes, slightly oversized head and slender body, the cope's vine snake is a fully arboreal snake, meaning that it almost never leaves the forest canopies of Central America where it makes its home. It feeds on lizards and frogs. It is named for its vinelike appearance, which helps camouflage it as it hunts and rests.

Diet
Cope's vine snake is a carnivorous species, its diet prominently consisting of small vertebrates. This snake actively hunts for lizards, using its slender form to traverse through vegetation efficiently. The diet of cope's vine snake is occasionally supplemented with birds and rodents.
Appearance
The cope's vine snake is a slender, medium-length snake, notable for smooth, glossy scales. This snake demonstrates an impressive display of brown to green coloration, with lighter streaks under its body. Its long, thin tails are as distinctive as the short, pointed snout. While sexual dimorphism isn't significant, juveniles are usually brighter in color than the adults.
Behavior
Cope's vine snake epitomizes an arboreal and solitary lifestyle. It demonstrates hunting prowess via a sit-and-wait strategy, relying on excellent camouflage in foliage. Interactions are primarily antagonistic, seen during breeding season or territory disputes. They exhibit defensive measures, such as elaborate body displays and false strikes, when threatened.
