General Info

Diet
Mountain goat primarily grazes on grasses and forbs. While grass constitutes a significant part of its diet, it also includes lichen, mosses, and shrubs, particularly in winters when other food sources are scarce.
Appearance
Mountain goat is a medium-sized mammal with a robust body covered in thick shaggy fur. It sports a primary coloration of dark brown to black. The creature bears straight, sharp horns that sweep backward. Both genders have these horns but are larger in males. Unique features include its muscular shoulders, short tail, and ears which are almost hidden in their fur.
Behavior
Mountain goat is typically nocturnal, adapting to a stealthy lifestyle in its rocky mountainous habitat. This species is predominately solitary outside mother-offspring groups, each individual commanding a vast territory. Unique food-preference shifts from summer grazing to winter browsing illustrate the adaptation to harsh climatic conditions.
