General Info

Lifespan
12-20 years
Diet
Formosa kukri snake predominantly feeds on various types of soft-bodied invertebrates, mostly molluscs. This emphasis on molluscs distinguishes formosa kukri snake’s diet, as it specifically prefers gastropods and bivalves, consuming their soft tissues with specialized dental adaptations.
Appearance
Formosa kukri snake is a small snake, slender and cylindrical in body shape. Its smooth scales are dominantly pale beige, interspersed with distinct dark brown bands, giving it a striking pattern. The underbelly is comparatively lighter in colour. This species does not have any significant variations in appearances related to age, gender, or subspecies.
Behavior
Formosa kukri snake exhibits largely terrestrial and nocturnal behavior, foraging for terrestrial invertebrates. It demonstrates solitary tendencies with no known distinctive social dynamics. A non-aggressive species, formosa kukri snake does not actively defend territories. To counter predation, it relies on crypsis, blending perfectly into leaf litter within its habitat.
