Description
Northern watersnake is an exemplary representation of unique survival adaptations, showcasing remarkable austerity in winter habits. Unlike other species, this creature engages in a phenomenon called brumation – a type of hibernation related to cold-blooded animals – to survive harsh cold months. Furthermore, it displays extraordinary dietary versatility, preying on a plethora of small aquatic and semi-aquatic animals, consequently playing a crucial role in local aquatic food webs.
