Diet
Wellington green gecko relies heavily on a diet of invertebrates, primarily feeding on a diversity of insects. Adept at hunting, its preference for certain arachnids and orthopterans vividly displays its specialized predatory behavior.
Appearance
Wellington green gecko is a small-sized gecko with a thin, elongated body. Its skin, semi-translucent with a granular texture, predominantly displays a vivid green hue. Occasionally, scattered, yellowish punctate spots embellish its dorsal surface. The species does not exhibit notable differences in size or coloration due to age, gender, or subspecies. Its tapering tail and clawed limbs are characteristic features of its arboreal lifestyle.
Behavior
Wellington green gecko exhibit arboreal tendencies and are predominantly nocturnal, primarily coming out to forage during the night. Specialized in vertical climbing, these creatures show a distinctive head-bobbing behavior when disturbed. Known for their solitary nature, individual wellington green gecko fiercely defend their territories against intruders while maintaining a non-interactive approach with their kin. Their body colour effectively camouflages them within the bark of trees, contributing to their survival in the natural habitat.
