Diet
Green tree gecko primarily subsists on a diet of live insects, with a strong preference for orthopterans such as grasshoppers and crickets. Seasonally, they consume native snails, augmenting their nutritional intake.
Appearance
Green tree gecko is a small, slender gecko with smooth, vibrant green skin, often with yellow or white spotting. It has a long, thin tail and spherical, lidless eyes with vertical pupils. Males are often brighter and more heavily spotted than females. Juveniles are similar but slightly paler in color.
Behavior
Green tree gecko are arboreal, predominantly nocturnal reptiles. Their specialized toe pads enable adept climbing of foliage. Males are territorial, defending small areas from rivals. They're solitary animals, generally pairing up only for mating. The species is ambush predators, patiently waiting for prey from a camouflaged position within the tree canopy.
