The Javan spitting cobra (Naja sputatrix) also called the southern Indonesian cobra, or Indonesian cobra, is a stocky and highly venomous species of spitting cobra native to Indonesia.

Behavior
Indochinese spitting cobra is primarily nocturnal, preferring to hide under rocks and debris during the day. When threatened, it resorts to the typical cobra defensive posture, raising its body off the ground, spreading its hood, and hissing loudly. It is a solitary animal, known for its venomous bite, which it uses to subdue prey. Being an ambush predator, its attack is swift and precise.
