Description
This bat is closely related to the species of the genera Coleura and Emballonura, they are summarized in the tribe Emballonurini. Mosia differs from the other two genera by a different structure of the musculature on the hyoid bone. In addition, she has a narrower form. Mosia nigrescens reaches a head-trunk length of 32 to 41 mm and a tail length of 7 to 12 mm. The weight of the species is 2.5 to 4.1 g. She has a brown coat.
