Diet
Boulenger's snake-eyed skink primarily subsists as an insectivore, heavily favoring small arthropods such as spiders and ants. This species also consumes soft-bodied insects, blending a dietary mix indicating adaptability.
Appearance
Boulenger's snake-eyed skink is a small lizard, typically measuring 3-4cm in length. Its streamlined body is covered in smooth, glossy scales, predominantly dark brown with a ragged, lighter underbelly. The lizard displays unique black bands that run along its body, starting from the eyes and ending at the tail. Hatchlings often appear more vivid in color, but both sexes and all stages retain the same key features.
Behavior
Boulenger's snake-eyed skink is a solitary, diurnal reptile with a preference for ground-dwelling habitats. Unlike other species, boulenger's snake-eyed skink sunbathes to regulate body temperature. Often remaining stationary, it forages for small invertebrates when hungry. Notably, the animal displays aggression only when threatened and does not partake in territorial disputes, indicative of its relatively docile nature.
