Description
Kotschy's gecko is a lizard native to the Middle East and southeastern Europe. Appearance
Kotschy's gecko is a small, slender reptile with rough, granular skin. It ranges from pale gray to brown, with darker patchy markings. During the mating season, the male's tail boldens to a bright blue or green. Notably, it bears flattened toes with wide adhesive pads, enabling adept wall climbing. Unlike most of its species, it lacks dorsal spines or horns. While young ones are more vibrant, their coloration dulls as they age.
Behavior
Kotschy's gecko is a largely nocturnal species, active during the twilight hours. This solitary creature is territorial, marking out an area with scent glands. Equipped for survival in rocky habitats, kotschy's gecko employs its specialized feet and tail for climbing and balance. During colder months, it can enter a state of brumation for survival.
