Appearance
Chinese stripe-necked turtle is a medium-sized turtle exhibiting a relatively flat shell, which is coursed with wide serrated edges. Its carapace, generally a shade of dark green or black, is adorned with irregular patterns and splashes of yellow. Its skin is grayish-green, with yellow stripes highlighting its face and neck. Gender variation exists with males being slightly smaller and possessing thicker, longer tails than their female counterparts.
Behavior
Chinese stripe-necked turtle is a freshwater dweller with diurnal tendencies, spending much of the day foraging and basking, especially in warmer months.
