Description
The lined ground snake is a slender, medium-sized non-venomous snake found in Central America and northern parts of South America. It is found in streams, marshes, and generally wet places, where it hunts for frogs which are the main part of its diet. This diurnal snake is named after its prominent stripes; the specific epithet lineatus was derived from the Latin word “linea” which means “line, stripe”.
