The showy leopard frog (Lithobates spectabilis) is a species of frog in the Ranidae family endemic to Mexico.

Showy leopard frog predominantly consumes a variety of invertebrates, favouring insects, spiders, and crustaceans. It uses its tongue to quickly snatch prey, often consuming several in quick succession.
Behavior
Showy leopard frog is nocturnal and primarily terrestrial, frequently foraging on the ground for insects, worms, and other small invertebrates. During breeding season, males perform auditory rituals to attract females. Solitary by nature, showy leopard frog exhibits territorial behavior by using distinct calls and strongly defends its domain.
