  Boscá's newt (Lissotriton boscai, formerly Triturus boscai ), also known as the Iberian newt, is a species of newt in the family Salamandridae. The species is found in Portugal and western Spain.

 Bosca's newt sustains on an omnivorous diet but heavily leans towards carnivory. Prone to consuming small invertebrates, its dietary staples include annelids, mollusks, and crustaceans, supplemented by occasional plant matter. 
   Appearance
 Bosca's newt is a small newt with slender body shape, known for smooth, moist skin. Predominantly green-brown in color, they feature dark spots all over the body, providing camouflaging advantage. No significant physical differences occur due to age, gender or subspecies. Notable feature includes a long, flattened tail, beneficial for aquatic locomotion. 
   Behavior
 Bosca's newt are nocturnal and engage primarily in foraging at night. They are amphibious, favouring bodies of water for mating and laying eggs, exhibiting exceptional swimming prowess. Mostly solitary, skirmishes among males for territory occur around mating season, showing a notable degree of territoriality. Their distinct survival adaptations include dormancy during winter and exclusive aquatic environments during larval stages.
