Leptophis ahaetulla, commonly known as the lora or parrot snake, is a species of medium-sized slender snake of the Colubridae family. It is endemic to Central America and northern South America.

Lora predominantly consumes smaller vertebrates, specializing in the consumption of frogs and lizards. It uses its slender body to swiftly navigate through the foliage for hunting.
Appearance
Lora is a slender, long-bodied snake, reaching up to 75 cm in length. Its scaly skin displays a vibrant lime-green hue that can vary to a darker olive-green, typically without markings. A key feature is the snake's larger, rounded head, distinct from the neck. Its eyes are covered by a clear scale and display a unique horizontal elliptical pupil.
Behavior
Lora is predominantly arboreal, exhibiting great agility in tree navigation. This nocturnal animal, often solitary, is non-confrontational, relying on camouflage and rapid escape into water bodies for defense. It displays an ophiophagous diet, preying predominantly on other serpentine species. Mating behaviors include tactile stimulation with forebody jerking.
