Description
Leptodactylus petersii (common name: Peters' thin-toed frog) is a species of frog in the family Leptodactylidae. Its local name is sapito de Peters ("Peters' toadlet"). It is found in the Guianas and the Amazon Basin (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela).

Notable features include the wedge-shaped, pointed snout and strong hind limbs adapted for digging. Males can be distinguished by the prominent dark throat.
Behavior
Peter's jungle frog exhibits a crepuscular behavior, becoming active during twilight hours. Notably, it displays a distinct vocalization pattern for mating. Substantially terrestrial, it dwells in burrows but can adapt to aquatic environments if necessary. Collectively, they showcase unique group behavior led by a dominant male during breeding season.
