   Diet
Yellow mud turtle primarily subsists on a carnivorous diet, displaying a strong preference for aquatic invertebrates. The diet further extends to insects, small fishes, and occasionally plant matter, thus demonstrating its opportunistic feeding behavior.
   Appearance
Yellow mud turtle is a small, box-like turtle species with a flattened shell of a muddy yellow hue, often adorned with unique dark patterns. These turtles possess a hinged plastron for enhanced defense and rough, thick skin. Their feet are robust and thickly webbed for their semi-aquatic lifestyle. There are no significant visual differences between genders or age groups.
   Behavior
Yellow mud turtle is predominantly nocturnal, spending the day burrowed in muddy substrates or hiding under aquatic vegetation. An omnivore, it exhibits opportunistic scavenging behavior and preys on both terrestrial and aquatic organisms. As a solitary species, interactions primarily occur during breeding. Male yellow mud turtle employs a unique mating technique involving neck-rubbing. Notably, yellow mud turtle employs its sharp, musk-scented claws for territorial defense.
