Description
Itapotihyla langsdorffii (common name: ocellated treefrog) is a species of frog in the Hylidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Itapotihyla. It is found in the Atlantic Forest biome of Brazil, with an isolated population in eastern Paraguay and adjacent Brazil and northeastern Argentina.

Ocellated tree frog primarily feed on invertebrates and small vertebrates. It fondly exhibits a preference for feeding on insects, particularly beetles and spiders, alongside occasional small reptiles and amphibians.
Appearance
Ocellated tree frog is a small to medium-sized tree frog, exhibiting smooth, thin skin. Its background colour is usually bright green, sometimes with scattered patches of dark green, creating an attractive pattern. In adults, a white streak runs from the eye to the body. While both sexes are similar in appearance, females are slightly larger. No substantial changes in appearance are noted with age.
Behavior
Ocellated tree frog is a nocturnal species, recognized for its unique call, used in both mate attraction and territory defence. This frog adopts a high-canopy lifestyle, with sleeping sites typically located on leaves and branches. Its ability to leap significant distances between trees aids survival in its arboreal habitat.
