The elongated tortoise (Indotestudo elongata) is a species of tortoise found in Southeast Asia and parts of the Indian Subcontinent, particularly Northeast India.

Appearance
Yellow tortoise is a medium-sized tortoise with an elongated, oval shell. Its shell is typically brown with dark-brown or black radiating patterns. The plastron or under-shell is yellow with brown patches. It has a small head, sturdy legs, and a relatively short, pointed tail. Its skin is hard and scaled, and is usually a dull yellow or cream in color.
Behavior
Yellow tortoise is a predominantly solitary and territorial animal. The species exhibits crepuscular foraging, being most active during dawn and dusk. Yellow tortoise tends to mark its territory using scent glands. A remarkable survival behavior is its aestivation, wherein it hibernates during drought conditions, allowing it to survive in varying climates.
