Description
A native of northern South American forests that usually stays near water, the plain tree snake is fully arboreal, almost never coming down to ground level, and hunting within the forest canopy instead. Though it superficially resembles forest vines, to human eyes it more closely resembles a child's drawing of a snake: bright orange, with a big, rounded head and huge goggly cat eyes.

Diet
Plain tree snake is primarily a carnivore, with a particular preference for small lizards and amphibians. It feeds at night, using its excellent eyesight and long, slender body to stalk and consume its prey.
Appearance
Plain tree snake is a slender, long-bodied snake with an oddly rectangular head, often stretching up to 1 meter in length. Its skin is vividly smooth with a prominent dorsal pattern of dark, narrow bands against its primary coloration of light green or yellow. Its principal distinguishing features include long, thin tail and large eyes which are vertically elliptical, adaptations for its tree-dwelling, nocturnal lifestyle.
Behavior
Plain tree snake is a largely nocturnal and arboreal species. It employs its slender, flexible body to maneuver skillfully among tree branches when hunting its prey, relying on its keen senses for location. It exhibits a primarily solitary existence, with minimal social interaction. It subtly blends with its environment for survival, acting as an adept camouflage user.
