Description
The arum frog, Horstock's arum-frog, arum lily frog, or Horstock's reed frog (Hyperolius horstockii) is a species of frog in the family Hyperoliidae. It is endemic to South Africa.

Horstock's reed frog is an insectivore primarily feasting on a variety of small insects. Its diet specifically constitutes of flies, moths, beetles, mosquitoes, and caterpillars, selected based on availability.
Appearance
Horstock's reed frog are small slender frogs, up to 30mm in length. Their skin is smooth and glazed, primarily dorsally green but can vary from spotless to spotted or barred with a red-orange color. Males possess a gular flap which distinguishes them from females. The tadpoles are blackish-brown, later developing green coloring on their dorsal side.
Behavior
Horstock's reed frog is mostly nocturnal, emerging at dusk to engage in a melodious mating call that's unique to its species. Extremely sociable in breeding season, this frog displays a characteristic leaping courtship dance. Its survival is largely attributed to its excellent camouflage against moss and lichen in its wetland habitats.
