Description
Hoplobatrachus tigerinus, the Indus Valley bullfrog or Indian bullfrog, popular name Asian bullfrog, Asean bullfrog or Asia bullfrog, is a large species of frog found in Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal. It has been introduced in Madagascar, where it is now a widespread invasive species.

Indus valley bullfrog exhibits a carnivorous diet primarily consisting of insects. This species has a predilection towards consuming ants, termites, and beetles, but occasionally supplements its diet with small vertebrates and gastropods when readily available.
Appearance
Indus valley bullfrog is a large, robust frog with smooth, abundant skin. It has striking olive green upper body coloration punctuated by dark, irregular spots, while the underparts are white or yellowish. Its snout is sharp, and eyes are bicolored, being golden at the center, fading to black towards the edges. Males and females are similar in appearance, but the males can be distinguished by their longer hind limbs during the breeding season.
Behavior
Indus valley bullfrog exhibits a semi-aquatic lifestyle, being active during the day and night. This species is known for its aggressive territorial behavior; males show dominance by emitting vocal signals and physical fights. It's carnivorous, feeding primarily on small invertebrates, and exhibits a unique mating behavior with the male embracing the female in an 'amplexus' position.
