Puff-faced Water Snake or Masked Water Snake (Homalopsis buccata) is a species of water snake found in tropical areas of South and Southeast Asia.

Appearance
Banded swamp snake is a medium-sized snake with a stout, streamlined body covered in smooth, waterproof scales. It displays an uncertain coloration, typically ranging from brown to olive green, often with dark, irregular patterns or bands. It possesses a unique triangular-shaped head whereby the rear edges are enlarged, resembling a leaf. Its pupils are vertical, imparting a distinctive nocturnal ambience. Gender and age do not noticeably affect its appearance.
Behavior
Banded swamp snake is a predominantly nocturnal species, lying camouflaged and inactive in the day, becoming active at dusk. It is a solitary animal showcasing aggressive behavior when threatened.
